Sorry for the trouble! For now, you can always convert into a different currency by temporarily changing your default currency to something else, using the “convert” function, and then changing your default currency back.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m not sure we’ll do exactly what you suggest, but we’ll take a look at making the label less likely to disappear.

We’d like to add quick-add to the dashboard and all expenses pages in the future, but we want to spend some time improving quick-add first. As it is now, quick-add could cause some unfortunate scenarios – say, adding a bill from the dashboard and accidentally splitting it with every single one of your friends, instead of just the one person you meant to.
Hopefully we’ll be able to spruce up quick-add and bring it to those other screens sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks for the detailed feedback – it’s always useful to hear, and I’ll pass it on :)
One small feature you may not be aware of: on our website, Splitwise does allow you to add group members without email addresses, which hopefully helps for the “large party” scenario. My apologies that the same feature isn’t available on our mobile apps!

I have a lot of people who I owe sth. or who owe me sth. where I don't know the email address / where the people don't really use email / where the people don't even have email addresses (like my grandparents) - but I still would like to keep track of the expenses and repayments we make.
My current workaround is to enter sth. like blub@blub.blub as email address in order to add "friends without email". Although this works fine (as far as I always enter another dummy email like blub2@blub.blub, blub3@blub.blub...) but I think it's not hard to make the email entry process optional which would add this functionality more nicely.
