Thanks. I hear you. We’re hesitant to create a ‘staging site’ for bills because we think that may cause a lot of confusion — you’d have to remember which bills you had actually added versus ones you’d only partially added. You’d have to remember to revisit the app to actually submit expenses. We’re aware of the need and will keep thinking through how to best let you store info without necessarily pinging your friends. Cheers!

Wanted to let you know that Splitwise is now supported on Zapier, a platform very similar to IFTTT: https://zapier.com/zapbook/splitwise/
Unfortunately we have been unable to make gains re: being added to the IFTTT platform. Thanks for your patience.

We just added a very basic calculator function to our web app, so you can now use basic mathematical operations when entering a cost (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). We hope to add similar features to our mobile apps at some point in the future!

Use case: as a group, we enter the receipt as split share at initial creation but we haven’t had time to calculate the actual balance until a later date. For example, we pay grocery on one bill but not everyone has equal shares or items in it. We use the comments to denote it but cannot see it at the top level expenses.
