Managing recurring expenses
Our monthly electricity bill went up by a couple of euros, so I needed to change the recurring expense that I had setup for this. Although this is possible the process is a bit confusing. I'd suggest providing an overview of scheduled recurring expenses, separate from the list of expenses that have already been created as a result from these schedules, which is what I was looking for because I didn't really want to touch any previous expenses.
We agree that managing recurring bills could be better. Currently, the way to edit recurring bills is to change the most recent copy and that will change ones that follow. It will not affect the past expenses.
We’re considering how to improve this, and will leave this under review for now.

Datewise Quantity, Price entry, which will repeat itself but customizable for any changes in daily routine.
This will become the third party to whom the payment will be due by group members / division as required -

the way how splitwise handles the editing of (future) recurring tasks is completely unlogical. you don't need to add them to the balance to be settled when they did not occur yet (surely if you postpone the time forward). it is sad, as a paying splitwise customer, to see that this is already a 6+ year old issue I can read below. do you actually listen to your customers ?
recurring bills don't always come in at the same time, surely not the yearly recurring ones. if I then need to postpone the date, they pop up in the bills to be settled with an amount which actually might not even be the amount which will need to be paid for that year. now (as paying customer) I need to keep a separate extra administration next to splitwise (which I pay to handle this task normally) for such occasions and then I need to put extra work into creating fix payments when the actual bill comes in. it is unnecessary extra work for your customers for a feature which is technically really not hard to implement. make either all tasks with a date in the future disappear from the balance of the current date or make a checkbox so people who do want to add future payments to the current balance (which makes no sense to me to begin with) can still get the current behavior. it can even work with the described way of editing the most recent copy of that payment. how can something so trivial take so much time ?
can we get an ETA on this please ? -

That's true @vikas, I don't see expense to Edit or delete recurring expense that we have friends paying back to us. Not sure who act's on these feedbacks?

Also "changing the most recent copy" does IN FACT affect the past expenses if the most recent copy is a past expense.
In my example, I received the bill today, but it's not scheduled to add to splitwise for another day or so. So my only option is to wait for it to add to splitwise, because for me, the most recent copy is an expense that already occurred.

Guys this is the worst part of Splitwise... it’s crazy I cant manage this. I shouldn’t have to dispute with my group whether or not something has been charged, and I should be able to review everything that is recurring to add or delete.

It seems ridiculous that you can't edit an upcoming transaction (from a repeating monthly bill, for example) until the date it is scheduled. We should be able to edit the date, amount and notes as we receive billing statements or information from utilities, etc.

And what about fixed installment payments? I'd like to be able to set a bill to repeat only X number of times.

We would like to have a placeholder. A place to add the amount for a bill where we can keep track of whether we charged for each month. Also the amount will change month to month. Our gas bill will go up some months and down others, but my roommates and I will split it nontheless.

There should be an End Date for recurring payments or number of iterations since it's crucial for registering installments.

When you edit a recurring Expense, the application or webpage must offer: change only that posting or change future postings for both values and who has paid the expense.

+1 on having an end date on recurring payments. Maybe in the US paying in installments are not that common but for other parts of the world this is a reality, so a recurring split payment with a end date could solve that problem.
