Debt simplification can be disabled in groups on the group settings screen – just turn the “simplify debts?” switch to off under “Advanced settings”.
We don’t currently have a setting to block yourself from debt simplifications among friends, but it’s something we may consider in the future. In the meantime, you can revert a debt simplification at any time by deleting any part of it, and the entire transaction will be undone.

Makes sense. I will leave under review to allow further voting to see how many others need this.

Hey there – very sorry for the trouble! We would love to add a “this is how I like to be repaid” feature that would let you specify your favorite payment services and the IDs you use on each platform. Can’t say exactly when this will get implemented (we’re a really tiny team) but it’s on the radar. Thanks for your patience.

Whoops, we’re still considering this idea. It does sounds like a useful improvement in the add expense form.

We do allow you to send reminders via email in the app and on the website you can grab a printable group summary from the group expense list month headers. I’m not sure if we’ll ever support whatsapp directly, but we’ll consider it if this gets a lot of votes.

As of late 2015, Google Wallet does not currently have a public API for person-to-person payments, so unfortunately there’s not a way for us to integrate with them directly. If Google adds that ability at some point in the future, then we’d love to consider this!
An error occurred while saving the comment Nomad commentedIs it possible to add circle pay as one of the payment options? This may allow crypto currency settlements in the future.

We agree that managing recurring bills could be better. Currently, the way to edit recurring bills is to change the most recent copy and that will change ones that follow. It will not affect the past expenses.
We’re considering how to improve this, and will leave this under review for now.An error occurred while saving the comment Nomad commented+1 for recurring expenses

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll add this to our list of possible improvements for the future. For now, of course, you can always use the “Paid by multiple people” option and manually enter an amount for each person who paid – though I realize that’s not super convenient if you’re just trying to split the total across 2 or 3 people :)
An error occurred while saving the comment Nomad commentedI tried to use "Paid by multiple people" option. I paid my share to the first person. But the system still shows that I owe my share to the second person.
An error occurred while saving the comment Nomad commentedI am in need of this feature. Now I have a group expense where 2 different members paid 2 different amounts. I am trying to split it across a group of 17 members.

We’ve actually talked about this idea before – we think it’s a very neat concept, but we’re not sure if it merits inclusion in the core Splitwise app, since a lot of Splitwise users actually don’t use Splitwise in this way. However, it’s a great idea for a separate app, either from us in the future or from a 3rd-party developer using our API (http://dev.splitwise.com). Maybe someday! :)

Thanks for the suggestion! We have a couple of features that come close to solving this issue (recurring expenses and reminders), but neither of them quite work in your case. We’ll take a look at this next time we’re working on either of these systems.

Interesting idea! We’ll definitely bring it up in our next feature-planning meeting :)

Sorry for the trouble! It’d definitely be interesting to transfer money directly through Splitwise (without using PayPal/Venmo/Square Cash/etc). We haven’t built that feature so far because there are a lot of regulations around transferring money, and we’d need to do a lot of technical and legal work, but it’s on our list of possible things to do in the future.

Hey Navneet! We support a few options in the US (PayPal and Venmo), and we just added an integration with Paytm for our Indian users. We’d love to add more. Hopefully in the future!

This is an idea that I think would be a great addition to the site. I’m not sure when we could fit it in our schedule, but it’s something I think would be a useful way to organize expenses.

We are currently in the process of evaluating different types of expenses and relationships with those expenses. Tracking personal expenses is something we’ve discussed and want, we just need to figure out where it fits on the schedule.

Thanks for the suggestion! This definitely makes sense. We’d like to add the ability for an account to include multiple email addresses, and setting different default addresses for PayPal/Venmo/etc seems like a logical extension of that.
I have enabled this option with one of my friends. Now I am trying to disable it. But there is no option to disable it.
