Add group administrator function
I see that other people have suggested this before and it's been rejected, but I'd like to bring it up again - having a group administrator woul dbe extremely valuable. That person doesn't have to be the only one that can add/edit payments, but it would be nice to have someone controlling the group - I'm specifically thinking of the "simplify payments" function. Of the 3 times I've used splitwise, 2 of them have been messed up because someone randomly unclicked the simplify payments function - people made payments, then I re-clicked it and people had to make double payments. If an admin was the one controlling this it wouldn't be a problem. It would also be helpful if the admin could "open" and "close" the group, specifically for one of events like vacations. Pretty much every time I do this I ask if everyone has submitted everything, people start making payments, and then two weeks later someone remembers something and adds it, meaning that people have to make two payments again. If you had a open'close functionality done by the admin, then there would actually be a way for me to enforce people putting expenses up on time.
Your comments make sense – you’re definitely not the only person to be confused or frustrated when a friend “accidentally” turns simplify debts on or off. We’re thinking about ways to solve that problem, as well as ways to “close” or permanently settle a group, and I’ll bring up the possibility of a “group admin” again next time we talk about this. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I was about to send them a feature request about this. In a nutshell, I want to be an admin inputting data into the group. But I don't want my name to show up when adding an expense. Say there's a group of 2 people, I just want to be a manager / admin for that. Whenever they add an expense, they shouldn't see my name as an option to split etc.

Hi Team,
Can you please make an option to become one person as an Admin so that only one person can update the expenses and split according.
Benefits- No chances of missing and no chances of updating expenses twice
Advantage- No confusions I’m updating the expenses.
One person can become admin to update expenses in an particular trip.

in my opinion it's almost stupid not having this option by default. we're dealing with money here guys!

There should be an option where a group is managed by only one or more managers.
Only managers can then add expenses. The remaining people in the group can just view.

to make lock option for group members, and only the admin can add and edit bills, the group members can only check the bills.
admin can give permission to specific member to edit or add. that will help in controling and to avoid manipulating. -

Now all group members can delete the group...change it...only admin can delete the group..

Today i had a lot of my friends start using it. But the first time users were having a hard time editing transactions and were actually just deleting them. maybe have an option for Admins and blocking all deletions?

Hi,
Can you add a function to grant diff access to group members, e.g view only, modify, etc. Thanks -

of a group. To my experience it is mostly the case that one person of a group is an organisator who finally collects and distributes debt and receivables respectively. A function for tjis would be of great value I believe.

I recently had a payee adjust the owed amount for a group payment. This seems to have been an honest error, but I feel like it could have been avoided if I'd been able to restrict the amount owed field from being edited. While I was able to parse out what happened by reviewing the payment history, it was more difficult than should have been because I wasn't notified in the first place that my payment had been adjusted. My only clue was when I received a note saying I owed them instead. If there is an option to lock amounts on payments, I did not see it in the "Add a bill" menu options.
