Add "Save and add another bill" next to the "Save" button in the "Add a bill" modal.4 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll leave this open for further voting for now.
Would it be possible to add an icon/option for Security under Home? In our house, we all split the monthly cost of Security Monitoring. This just seems like a useful categorization as others who use Simplisafe or a DIY security system with monitoring. This is just the OCD side of me wanting more icons! Anyway, love the app. Very helpful!!3 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll consider this the next time we discuss new categories to add.
This is pretty silly and probably more complex than it seems but it would be awesome if you added kittens to the web app somewhere. Unless you have and I've missed them...6 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! :)
I add comments on transactions before I delete them, noting why they were deleted.
I can see the details of deleted transactions on Splitwise Mobile App, but I cannot see them on the web app.
Please allow us to see all details. :)6 votes
Thanks for suggesting this! That makes sense. I’ll leave this under review for now.
I'm a new user of Splitwise. While I don't think paying for the Pro version is worth it for me, I would like to support the service by deactivating my ad blocker. However, after doing so, I still see no ads. I quickly realized that the ads are still being blocked by both the DuckDuckGo extension and the Privacy Badger extension, which are tracker blockers.
Just to be clear, those are not Ad blockers. They just block trackers. It just so happens that most ads track you, and therefore they get blocked. While I'm perfectly fine with adding…1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely something to look into.
In Android app there is a 'Group spending summary' screen where I can select 'All time' mode and see how much did the trip cost to me.
In the WEB app this screen shows data only for one month at a time that is inconvenient if trip didn't fit in a single month. Please, add 'All time' mode to WEB app.3 votes
Thanks for the feedback! I don’t expect we’ll be revisiting the trends view on the web app soon, but this does seem like a useful improvement.
Please add the itemized split feature to iOS.9 votes
It would be great if I could enter in Itemized Bill how many items did I buy and from there, the web app would multiply this amount by price for 1 piece to get the total price.
Lets say I bought 4 boxes of milk for $10 each.
Right now I would enter it like this:
4 Milks, $40
What I'd rather do is this:
Milk, 4 boxes, $10 each, total $40
This gives me better understanding of how many boxes did we bought and what was the price for 1 box.14 votes
Thanks for your suggestion! We’re not currently planning any significant changes to the itemized bill form, but I see how this would be a useful addition. I’ll leave this open for further voting and pass along the suggestion.
Sometime I want to see what all expenses I have already added so that I can add only the remaining one.
Can there be an option to track just "my activity" for last 30-60 days.13 votes
Thanks for the interesting suggestion! I can see how this would be helpful, I’ll pass along the idea!
Just add a few more days to make the calculator more usable.7 votes
Thanks for the suggestion, makes sense! I will bring this up next time we talk about updating it.
Wrong text: "Bitte unterstütze Splitwise, indem du deinen Freunden on uns erzählst!"
Correct text: "Bitte unterstütze Splitwise, indem du deinen Freunden von uns erzählst!"
("on" should be "von")8 votes
Thanks for the catch! We’re in the middle of updating all our translations, and I’m pretty sure this fix will be in the update.
I am an international person and I use several international phone numbers. I would like to use all together in the same Splitewise account.24 votes
We hope to add multiple phone number support in the future as more and more people have multiple numbers but would like only a single Splitwise account.
As I was creating an expense, I accidentally clicked outside the modal window, which cleared all the data I entered. This is very annoying. It should persist locally.3 votes
Thanks for the feedback! I can see how this would solve some problems in entering data from our web app.
I use PocketSmith for budgeting and personal finance.
When you think about it, a splitwise balance is like a loan/demand deposit (depending on whether you are net owed or owing money).
Since I use PocketSmith to give me a holistic view of my finances, I'd like it to reflect my Splitwise balance too (especially since I'm often owed 3 figure sums).
The easiest way to do this in an app/service-agnostic way would be to allow the export of all transactions, as a QIF/QFX/CSV file. Most personal finance/bugeting apps allow import from one or more of these formats.
The current per-friend/group…21 votes
Thanks for the suggestion – I definitely understand how this would be useful. I’ll add it to our list of possible improvements for future updates.
add a cancel button to the new group page3 votes
Thanks for the feedback! I think we left this off intentionally to make the page a little simpler to use in the general case of just getting started, though I’ll see if we can think about adding a cancel button here.
When I add the following smiley face symbol to a comment, the text following the '<' is not rendered, along with the '<' itself:
The '<' symbol and all text following are not rendered.

Allow pasting of clipboard image directly , for receipts in Splitwise bill instead of only allowing us to upload from PC. Many times, the bill receipts will be present in Gmail or Google photos. We could take a screenshot of that receipt by pasting it to the clipboard. If Splitwise provides a feature to directly paste the clipboard's image for bill receipts, instead of having to download that image or PDF and upload it, it'd be great.7 votes
Thanks for the suggestion – I can see how this would be useful in some cases when copying existing photos on a desktop or laptop.
When checking out the (printable) expenses summary it shows the received payments as expenses. So at the bottom line when it tallies up everything the totale expenses per person are higher than the actual expenses. I believe it should deduct the received payments to get a correct overview.14 votes
Sorry for the trouble! I definitely understand your reasoning. Right now, the printable summary includes payments so that it can present an accurate total of how much your balance has changed during the month, taking into account both expenses and payments. In the future, hopefully we can separate out expense totals in a way that makes them clearer.
This would allow me to pay someone back in increments until the whole amount is paid back. For example, my fiance paid for flights for our upcoming vacation. I want to pay him back $700 over the next 6 months, so I'd like to set up a recurring monthly payment of $117 that ends after 6 payments. Alternatively, you could add another option for divided bills that automatically calculates and schedules gradual payments.72 votes
Thanks for your feedback! I see how this would be a good improvement. Are you aware that you can set a payment to reoccur already, although we don’t have as fine tuning as you’d like? If you need any help setting our (basic) reoccuring feature up please email email@example.com. Thanks, Zoe
When entering expenses in the quick add form, it always picks the current year if you just enter a dd/MM date. I would imagine that most people using this are going to be entering past expenses, but if you use this for entering last year's expenses after new year, then the year goes in wrong. For example, I've entered an expense on 24/12, which gets interpreted in 2017.3 votes
Thanks for the suggestion – that definitely makes sense! Quick-add is a pretty infrequently used part of Splitwise, so this probably won’t be fixed right away, but hopefully it’s something we can take a look at before 2018 :)
